There has been one source of tension throughout our marriage, and I think Jody will agree on this, it's that I throw out treasured memories. It started when we moved to Michigan when at some point, during the moving process I threw out our wedding video. It continued when I was in the hospital and I didn't keep track of a photo album that was thrown out. And in our last move I threw out Teagan's Barbies.
It always continues to amaze me that I would keep doing these things. It also amazes me that these things continue to turn up.
The wedding video turned up a couple of years after I threw it away in Florida. How it got to Michigan is one of the great mysteries of man.
The photo album turned up a week later in a paper bag. Jody said she prayed really hard and God put it in the bag.
And now the Barbies turned up. I am still waiting for an explanation on how they went from the landfill to our attic.
I can't until we move again someday, just to see what I can throw out next and then try to figure out how it reappears years later. Treasured memories- indeed.

Awesome post - you can just tell how darn cute you two are together from the tone of your post. I love that it is all turning up!
What amazing God Moments; it makes the Barbie story even more precious!!
Who are we to blame if not the boys in our life, it's not like they remember where they put the keys let alone a small bag of barbies!! Good on you for making us giggle :)
ROFLOL!!! I love that the items that know they are important figure out how to get from the landfill back to their rightful home! That is just the sweetest thing ever!
But OF COURSE it was God who gave them back.
You must stop throwing things away! :)
Thanks for the giggle.
nittygritty . . .i think the nittygrittyhubby is a keeper . . .don't toss him away!
All of the hubbys in the world are now praying that God will help them out of a "throwing things away mess" just as he has you. This is priceless!!! Thanks for the laugh.
I have no doubt that your sweet Teagan made sure those things were 'found'. ((((hugs))))
I love when we get to hear from the Nitty.Gritty.Hubby! What a wonderful story - both of your posts. But, just be careful - stop throwing stuff away!! :)
I should give you my husband's e-mail and have you guys share these stories as he has quite a few to tell. He, just like you, throws out stuff *all the time*! :)
LOL...that's funny! Are you sure you didn't misplace a million bucks? Maybe if you try it will show up! ;-)
LOL!!!!
I giggled when I saw you call yourself "nitty gritty hubby!" :) Ah yes...throwing things that you later wished you hadn't...we go through that too sometimes. It will be interesting to see how it goes as we are preparing for a move sometime in the next several months. We have already packed zillions of boxes and indeed, my hubby and I got rid of lots and lots of things...and sometimes tears were shed over the discussions we had deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. Ultimately, I think we didn't get rid of anything too important, but probably more just junk. May God continue to help you guys as you sort out stuff and miraculously have things brought back from the landfill! That's great. And by the way, I think it is SO neat that you are writing on Jody's blog once in awhile. It puts a smile on my face! My hubby still teases me about my blog that I started this summer. He thinks it is silly but just recently decided that maybe it is fun to see the pictures and maybe once in awhile read my silly stories...one day maybe he'll be a nitty gritty husband too and write posts! :)
okay? do you seriously remember throwing these things out? like, actual visual memory of walking these items to the garabage? and then they "turn up"?
oh, and chip, you should think about getting your own blog!
Don't just love when God does cool stuff like that??
