Events of this day...

These photos are courtesy of the Gaylord Herald Times. I do not know who to give credit to for taking these actual pictures. I'm sure it must have been difficult to stand back and snap these photos given the chaos and adrenaline flowing around through each and every person on the scene of this tragedy. I post these to give you a real sense of the events that have shaped my posts much of this past month. And now you can see for yourself just how much we've been through...and how far we've come- relying on the strength, comfort, hope and peace that can only be found in Christ.

Just wanted to let you know I'm "remembering" Teagan today- you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I was thinking about how amazing it is that through this blog I am able to "remember" your daughter even though I have never met any of you. You mentioned that you wanted to let Teagan know you weren't ever going to let her life fade completely. Well, for me, you have done completely the opposite. Rather than just keep her life from fading, you have made her short little life shine and sparkle! Thank you for being real and sharing these things. They have impacted me greatly!

Jody,
First I must say that coming to *know* you through your blog has added a new depth to my life, made me look at things in a new, fresh way. Thank you.
You and your entire family have been in my thoughts and prayers so much, but never so much as today. God bless each of you. The strength in each of you is unbelievable. I always found the saying "God never gives you more than you can handle" an inspiration. You have taken this to a completely new level. You have taken your worst nightmare and found beautiful moments in it. Turned your fears into strong exceptionally important lessons for your entire family. You are simply amazing. I am sure that everyone who meets you instantly knows they are in the presence of strength, faith, and unbelievable serenity. You have the luckiest children...no one could ask for better parents than you and Chip. You have turned this experience into a life long lesson for your children, and they will be so strong due to this. God bless.

Gut-wrenching. It makes the hope with which you live your life even more amazing.

My heart stopped when I saw those pictures for the very first time. I am so sorry that you and your family had to go through all of this. I am praying for you and your family.

Those pictures are horrifying! What's worse is thinking about how that woman could have driven into that tiny building (knowing full well that people were inside enjoying their meals together) with absolutely no conscience about how she would destroy the lives of others. All she cared about were her own selfish desires. That alone is horrifying. The pictures only intensify the horror.

I am forever in awe of you and your family for being such incredible survivors... resting in your faith to carry you through. God's grace surely is sufficient at all times. I've felt Him cradle me in times of absolute despair and heartache... b/c unfortunately I have lost a loved one at the hands of another as well. It is truly amazing how God just envelopes you. He gives you this peace that makes no sense in the midst of the turmoil... but it is oh so sweet. I'm sure you know what I mean.

God bless you & your family. I am grateful to God that I came across your story. It really challenges me to keep a heavenly perspective.
