To Daddy- all the way from Heaven~

Dear Daddy,
I know it seems like forever since we last hugged like this, but I want you to know that you're still the love of my heart. I love how you have found ways to smile in life, even though I'm gone, and that you have danced with my sisters, Wyndham, Bella and Ava many times since I left you. I love that you have made Brock laugh and Mommy too. They have needed you so many times and you have always been there for them.
I love how you have cried and hurt for me, but found ways to remember all the good times we shared. I have seen how hard you have worked to make sure that there have been lots of good times for the rest of the family- even when it has been difficult to do. You are my hero, forever and always.
I hope you know that I don't miss you a minute while I'm here in Heaven, but I can't wait for you to get here...someday! Make sure you love on the new baby that God is sending you soon. I helped pick him out for you, so I already know he's going to fit in perfectly! Tell Mommy hi and give her and everyone else a big squeeze for me.
I hope you have a really great Father's Day!
Love, Your Angel in Heaven~ Teagan

What a beautiful tribute to both your husband and your daughter!

Just got home from a very meaningful Father's Day service at church. At the end the leadership men and their daughters were up front while this song by Steven Curtis Chapman played. First a young dad "danced" with his little daughter (dressed as a princess), then the next dad danced with his teen daughter and the 3rd dad danced with his grown daughter whose exemplifying the "engaged/married" daughter. At the last chorus then several more leadership dads and daughters danced. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room at the end.
We just don't know, any of us, how much time we have with our families (be it our children, spouses...or parents).

Thank you Jody for reminding us, again!!!! Happy Father's Day Chip....and any other dads who might be online to read this!

uUmmm....you just made me cry...

I'm on the other end of the spectrum...I'm a girl who's lost her dad and really missing him right now. Father's Day is pretty emotional for me. I still have the card I gave him on his last Father's Day here on Earth.

Thanks for sharing that, Jody...
God Bless.
Hillary.

Thanks Jody. I wish I had done more for my DH this Father's Day from his DD, but time away on vacation with all our boys was the gift we gave each other. :) Thanks for sharing this beautiful tribute for Chip and Teagan..all Dad's and their daughters in Heaven.

Hugs,
Rhonda

Ohhhh that one got me, tears and a smile

This is most certainly not healthy. I'm quite sure Teagan did not whisper this in your ear to 'tell Daddy'. You really should take another look at this and perhaps delete it. A good therapist would most likely tell you the same thing. Did your earth children give Daddy such a glowing tribute or was it all about Teagan and Daddy?

I just have to respond. Jody this is lovely.

Anonymous...why would you say this isnt healthy? I find Jody's faith...and her love for her family both on earth and in heaven extremely healthy. I am a therapist, and would not hesitate to tell Jody she is ok. We all deal with things in our way...and I can honestly say, that Jody and her family are dealing...and doing so very well.

Don't worry anonymous. It most certainly wasn't about Teagan and Daddy. This blogpost was it.
The other children made cards and gave him gifts...and hugged and kissed their Dad in person.
This sort of "anglemail" is something that Chip and I shared and 'gave' one another early on after Teagan died. We are aware that she can't 'speak to us'...except through our hearts and memories.
There is nothing more honoring to someone you love who has died, than to share the gift of them with those they loved most. For Teagan, that would be her Dad.
I have no doubts a therapist would say this is an amazing way to continue to leave Teagan's legacy.
And I appreciate if you have such negative, hurtful words to share, that you email me privately from now on {nitty.grittyjody@yahoo.com}.
Thank you for being respectful of me and Teagan.

Jody, this made me cry. You and your family are an inspiration to me. I have your blog book marked. In my pregnant and hormonal state, I feel the need to tell Anonymous to go jump off a cliff or something. Seeing as how this is Jody's blog, and not yours, she can post what she pleases.
