Bouncing back.

Day two of February (Happy Birthday, Rachael!) and we are making progress. Today is the first day in over two weeks that Wyndham has woke up at a 'normal time' and she smiled too. I think we've missed her smiles and 'talking' most of all.
It was a laid-back day with a bit of making 'messes' and cleaning too. The girls spent some time playing with paints and having some creative time. When they were finished I worked on painting a calendar- since I'm now a full month behind keeping track of our lives. I owe my mom a big thank you for cleaning my wood floors in the kitchen and for polishing some dressers this week too. It just feels good to be freshening up things around here. Even if there are still toys all over and piles of my clutter that I just can't seem to part with- no matter how many times I try to clean up.
Today I am just loving that life feels like it's almost back to normal. Wyndham still took a nap today and her energy levels just aren't what they had been before her seizures and sickness the past two weeks. But to have her smiles show up- even a few times in a day is a big step forward. Her appetite is still not back to 100%, but I think I made up for her at dinner when we ate my mom's spaghetti with homemade cheese sauce. {By the way, for all you mom's reading this...when is it officially okay for me to 'start eating for two'?! =)} At 8:00 tonight, with four kids freshly bathed all dressed in their jammies and ready for bed, I just had to breathe a deep sigh and feel good about today.
If you look closely (or click on it to enlarge) that last picture, you will see that Wyndham got her hair cut too. She seems happy about that. It has been her best day yet in 3 weeks. Simple, routine, a little bit messy. Just the kind of day I love!

What a sigh of relief for you today! We need those days. And by the way, you may eat for two at any time!! That's the fun part.

How wonderful to see Wyndham's smiling face and to read that things are slowly returning to "normal" (whatever THAT is, right?). What a lovely brood you have there, Jody!

Blessings....

The pj's in bed looks like it was a fun day..all those smiling faces! Enjoy eating...some of us had to force ourselves to eat at that stage...besides we all know that the little one will put you on an "exercise program" soon enough anyway!

So glad to hear it, Jody! It brings a smile to my face, as well. And Wyndham's hair looks so cute! :-) If it were me, I'd be eating for two already. ;-) Many blessings to you!!!

My first thought was "it's so nice to see Wyndham smile" - and what a perfect grandma moment, surrounded by the kids. And girl, you eat for two from the get-go! Right along with the congratulations comes, "would you like an extra helping?" :)

This is wonderful to read Jody. So glad things are starting to feel a little more normal around your house. Oh and you can start eating for two at conception! At least that is what I tried to do...unless you are sick...then eat whatever you can.

Love ! Love! the pic of your Mom & the kids. So sweet. Your Mom has to be loving this special time at your home.

Wyndham's hair is adorable. So glad she is improving. Hopefully, on her way, all the way, on the upswing.

Hugs to you all.
