Golden!

The sun has peeked out a couple of times this week and it is absolutely 'glowing' around our house with golds and oranges and reds and green leaves. So pretty. I never tire of the changing leaves of autumn. It reminds me that there is a rhythym to life and that even though summer is over, this season holds it's own wonders and beauty, and that the next (winter white here in Michigan) is just around the corner.
It makes me think of how amazing creation is; nature and all its splendor to me, always points to its Creator. I love knowing that God is in control at all times, always. It is this simple truth that has given me peace and comfort, and strength and joy in life. Good or bad times- whatever the season.

I LOVE when the leaves change color in the fall. We have a bush right behind our house where the leaves turn red in the fall. That's the only reason why it's still there. LOL. Because normally I'm not a big fan of bushes, but because the leaves change to my favorite color every fall I just don't really want to rip it out. :P

The pictures and words are just beautiful. It took me a lot of years to learn that God is in control of my life and then an even larger number of years to finally hand that control over to Him...it is a very peaceful, pleasant, and content place to be in life. God is good! Thank you for blessing me with your kind words.

I'm green with envy! We almost completely skip the season of fall this far south. It's so sad - the leaves just sort of shrivel up and die and we NEVER get all those beautiful colors. Your pictures look so vivid I could reach through my screen and feel the coolness of fall and hear the crinkle of the leaves!

Jody... I am jealous in a rainbow of colors. I miss this time of year SO much. I am from Ohio and now live in Florida. Even though it's gorgeous here it just isn't the same as the vibrant energy of the fall. Enjoy it for me.

Beautiful pictures! I live in S.E. Michigan and I love fall. But this year it's been so dreary with so much rain, and the rain is really getting me down (usually i don't mind it). I finally realized earlier this week it's because I want those 'crisp autumn days' where the sun is shining and the leaves are glorious and you can crunch through the ones on the sidewalk. Rain really puts a damper on that.

Amen to that! When the sun is shining... this time of year is the best! I love the colors and the beauty. :) This post of yours reminded me of this poem that I found in a "Chicken Soup for the Soul" book a number of years ago...

The Best Day of My Life

Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever!
There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate!

Today, I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and yes, even the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.

I will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy heart. I will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds. Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice.

Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don't even know. Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special they are, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for them and how much they mean to me.

Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me. I'll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God and His Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.

And tonight, before I go to bed, I'll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.

As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life, ever!
