Shameless self-promotion

Having some background in design and computer know-how can be a good thing at times. like when you want a blog business card... I simply sit down at my computer and whip one up myself. Now, when I stand in line at the grocery store and see a harried mother behind me, or when I go and get a refill on my Starbuck's coffee beans- I can hand out my own card. I know. It's kind of goofy. But, I figure if dooce.com can get 200+ comments for writing about "personal body issues", then maybe there are a lot of people who want some "real life" stuff to read about.
Today happens to be a slow day for me. I guess I've hit the "blog-wall" as far as new material goes. So, shoot me some suggestions in my comments, or tell me what your favorite episode was from the Brady Bunch or anything interesting you can think of.
I actually had an uneventful trip to the grocery store today. I've also got that Rachel Ray Raspberry Tart baked up and cooling on my kitchen counter. I'm telling you- scroll down until you find this recipe and do yourself a favor- print it out and make this dessert!
In the meantime, if you bump into me just ask me for one of my cards. I'll be happy to give you one! That's all for this Monday. See ya!

I wish I lived near you so I could get a business card from you!

Love your blog, love your attitude about life,

Best BB episode? Definitely when Jan was jealous of her older sister, "it's always Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!"
My friend and I would argue over who got to "be" Marcia every time we watched an episode.
Great memories!

So you are having a quiet day...and it almost sounds like you are not sure what to do with yourself...laughing. Do you use the Rachel Ray book alot? We just found out that we are gettin custody of my BF's two boys 13 & 15. I haven't had full-time kids while working full-time ever! How do you plan meals every day???? Oh well, live & learn!!!

I love this blog! It makes me smile, laugh, cry and all of the above at once on some days. It is 11:41 our time and my house is quiet. The kids are FINALLY all sleeping, the husband is too and even the dog!lol. I could take a moment and flip through my new ck that came in the mail today, I could go scrap a page or start planning to scrap a page, lol. But what do I do instead? I grab a bowl of trix and I come over here to see how you are doing. I am amazed by your strength and your wit makes me laugh! I adore this blog greatly! Thanks for the laughs and the occasional cry! You inspire me to want to be a better mom on the days that I feel like just blowing up. Because I remember you and your story and it makes me stop and think "what if this were the last time I were to speak with my child?" Would I want them to remember me loosing it over pouring juice on the floor to give the dog a drink? ummm.NO. It doesn't ALWAYS work. Sometimes I DO loose it. But I do truly think of you often and a majority of the time I get over it and forget it. Hope that isn't creepy!LOL! Thank you regardless for this blog and the inspiration that you give! So glad I stumbled upon your blog!

Hope you don't mind, but I alluded to you in my own blog today.

Here's what a wrote:

I. Can. NOT. Stop. Thinking. About. This. Blog.

And I can't remember the last time something I've read produced so many tears. Wow.

This woman's courage and outlook are both nothing short of phenomenal. Amazing. Remarkable. Inspiring. Profoundly self-less.

Reading the entry No Ordinary Day alone made me want to go through the archives and find the story behind her DD's death. Which led me to looking at the articles in her city's newspaper about the event. Which turned into nearly two hours of computer time for me today. So much for making the most of every day myself, huh? And so much for my good start "flying." (aka FLYlady.com)

Feeling guilty that my sick kiddos have been alternately watching TV and sleeping. Bad mommy. Time to go read to them. And hug them tighter than ever.

I don't want to spoil my one shot.

Your hair is SO adorable in that picture!!! LOVE it. It seems like I'm always between styles these days. So for topics? I'd love to see some hair posts. lol I have SO much going on right now...really heavy, duty stuff...so I'm more into "light" reading. But that's just me. I say mix it up and you'll probably please lots of people. Freaking LOVE dooce, btw. :)

I have no idea how I found your blog, but it's so ... real ... personal ... interesting. ... I'm sure you'll always find something new to blog about ... how about a story from when you were in high school, or where your family always went on summer vacation, or what is always the first sign that tells you a season is here ... die hard classics, I know, but still interesting. ... (PS. don't forget to check out my blog too!)
