How about a chance to win a free class?

I haven't left my house in 9 days, as of today. We still have some semi-sick people here and aren't back to normal quite yet. I didn't even mention that Wyndham had pink eye and I've pulled a muscle in my back too. That's on top of all the other stuff. Needless to say, I've done very little picture-taking or anything else remotely fun around here for a long while now.
I have been on Facebook for a bit and through a connection there, I am able to offer a scrap class give away.
Here is a description and links for you with all the details you need to learn more about it:
In Loving Memory by Tania Willis (her blog link here)
April 9 - May 7
During this 5-week course (one session per week) Tania will help spur you on to create an album dedicated to a loved one you have lost, all the while encouraging you to be gentle on yourself through the process. She will provide prompts and challenges to help you get your thoughts in order and onto the page, as well as suggestions for selecting photos and how to overcome the dilema of not having many photos at all. In addition, page sketches will be offered and a variety of embellishment techniques will be taught along the way.

There's no better way than to complete a treasured project than in the company of a supportive teacher who is on her own journey of remembrance after losing her mom very suddenly and unexpectedly the summer of 2007.
“It’s scrapbooking as a healing therapy, not just art.”

I think this would be a wonderful way to honor the memory of a loved one. Speaking of that, I invite you to pray for the Smith family today as it would be Audrey's first birthday if she were still here on earth with them. I'm sure it's a bittersweet memorial day for them. But a day to remember and rejoice too- because of the Hope of Heaven. I look forward to rejoicing with them around the throne. Someday.
In light of Easter and what Jesus did for all of us on the cross, it is such a tender reminder that there is so much more to this world than that which we can see. It's wonderful to make memories and hold on the the things we've lived through. But even greater- is the reality that God has a bigger plan. A far-more reaching plan that will bring glory and honor to His name forever.
That's a thought that makes my heart race. I hope it does the same for you!
Now, for a chance to win a spot in the above-posted class, please leave your name and tell me what your favorite sign of spring is. I'll do a random pick for the winner by 10 pm tonight. Good luck!

my favorite first sign of spring is the green grass. Living in Florida we don't have much change in the seasons really but I love when our grass goes from brown to green (even if it IS filled with weeds! lol)

Jody,

I would love to win this class. I dont know about others but I have yet to scrap about my dad who we lost 11 years ago. It is still painful but at the same time, the hope of Heaven does make my heart race too - just knowing this is such a short time frame along our journey with God. Thanks for offering this to us!!

Now for my favorite spring sign is the laughter and noises made by the children at the school behind us as well as in my own front yard where all the neighborhood kids hang out. I guess that is the child still within me.

Have a good day and I hope your household gets back to normal soon if there is such a thing!!!

Hugs,
Diana

Jody, thanks for letting us know about this class. It is something I would love to do for my identical twin daughters, Vivian and Annemarie, who were both stillborn in July.

My favorite sign of spring is the smell of the air! Everything just smells fresh in the spring- and I love that!

I hope you guys start to feel better around your house. Being sick is no fun!

My favorite sign of spring this year especially will be COLOR! It seems like it has been a long winter of white and grey. I'm longing for the green grass, blue sky, colorful flowers and bright sunny days! :)

Thanks for the chance to win!

my favorite signs of spring are the 100 year old bulbs that start popping up all over my yard. Each year it is a new wonderful surprise!

my favorite thing of spring is the birds chirping...being from MN originally, it is the sign that things are fresh, warm, and the cold, old layer of winter is slowly going away.

this class sounds like a wonderful reflection, thanks for the opportunity to win.

Living in Southern California, most of the seasons are pretty much the same, although I can feel a nip in the air when it gets colder, and warmth when it gets warmer. I would say seeing the pastel colors in different Easter things, and clothes are some signs of spring that I notice.

My favorite sign of spring is the smell of lilas coming inside our house from an open window. This sign of spring is about 4 to 6 weeks away where I live.

Since I am a garden lover,my fav. sign of spring are the crocus popping up as well as seeing the buds on the tress...a true sign of the "rebirth" of easter and spring....followed a close second by the sound of kids playing basketball in the driveway. :)

So sorry that you and yours are sick. thanks for the chance to win the class - I have a very hard time scrapping about my mother and this class sounds very inspiring. Spring where I live is azalea time and I just love their brilliant fuchsia color - I love to bring them into the house and put them in old bottles - they look particulary beautiful in an Arizona tea bottle.

The sign of spring I love is the blooming flower trees.. The smell of cut grass on the field with fresh paint for soccer season kicking off..

I think winning this class would be very worth it. I lost my mother in law almost a year ago to pancreatic cancer and I would love to make a book for my husband..

Thank you for the giveway post..

I find your word and your faith so encouraging..

Stephanie

Can wait for spring and a renewed spirit. This winter has taken a toll on beast as well as humankind. I pray for the warm sun and the lapping waves of a trip to the lake. Take care and picture the above in you hours of illness. thanks for the give away Tam

The butterflies are here. Our mini-doxie spends hours chasing their shadows on the ground. She has even taken to "hiding" under the picnic table so they won't see her. She never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Your blog today brought tears to my eyes. All love and blessings to the Smith family.
I would love to be able to take Tania's class. I lost my best friend to breast cancer 5 years ago and their is still a daily ache in my heart. She was so full of faith, humor, courage, grace, dignity-it is void that cannot be easily filled.

My favorite sign of spring is the smell in the air. Its been a long winter and I cant wait till we finally have some warm temps here in Canada.
I would love a spot in this class. It will be a year on May 30 that I lost my only sister. She was only 41 and passed away very suddenly. I have thought all year that I wanted to do an album for myself and for her only son, but this past year I have been sort of numb with all that has happened. Maybe this class is the boost that I need!

I love it when the bradford pear trees start to blossom. First white and then they change to a vibrant pink. When the wind blows they float around you ....it is magical

My favorite sign of spring is softball - a bit unconventional but both my girls have been playing this sport for years. Once practice starts, spring and warm weather can't be far behind! We could use some of that warm weather though ~ they had a crimmage today and the temp was in the low 40s with some wind and showers.

Living in NE Indiana, getting any sign of spring is great! But my favorite thing to see has to be seeing clusters of little purple violets popping up in my backyard. Even though we have had torrents or rain and snow and freezing temps this week, there are still violets all over my back yard and they always make me smile.

I love seeing the green grass pop back up as the icky snow melts.
I would love to create this book for my Mom who I lost suddenly. I have ached to create something like this, but am lost as to where to start most of the time. Thanks for the great posts as always.
