Real life...

This is six minutes of life at the Ferlaak home. Unscripted and unedited. In addition, Ava is just two days away from a birthday. She is excited about anything and everything right now. Brock is just learning to play guitar. The rest of us just made our usual-self appearances. After watching this, you may understand why it is that I don't "Twitter". I really have nothing 'twitter-worthy' as my updates would always be something like: Emptying dishwasher or changing diapers or making dinner or folding clothes. Really truly. My real life may look fun and interesting on a blog, but in real life it's mostly boring and wild- all at the same time. =)

I love, love, love videos. Makes ya feel like you're there. You have a sweet family and you will miss that when they are all grown and out from underfoot. I imagine you will have lots of grandbabies when that time comes and the cycles continues. I forget you're up north, ya sound funny!!! Blessings to you and yours

OH Jody - this is priceless!! :) You should definitely continue making them!! LOVED Brock's songs - he is doing super on the guitar....and Avery is a character with her PIZZA PIZZA and Star Wars songs! Wyndham is doing super - loved seeing her sign!! Ava is just one bundle of joy, isn't she? Then precious Crew - absolutely adorable! Keep loving the "ROUTINE" - you'll miss it in a few years! :) THanks for entertaining us with "real life"!!

this is one of your shortest posts, and yet, i feel, one of the most profound.

i have four kiddos, and a great man :) and blog... i also follow multiple "mom blogs" and often walk away feeling like i'm somehow missing something in life... my logical brain self knows exactly what you just said "it's just normal wild life" but my jealous flesh thinks that the blogging women (the parts of us that reveal only what we wish, tied up with sweet adjectives, metaphors and adorable pictures) are somehow living a bigger, more fulfilled life.

truly, we are all living the "diaper changing, dishwasher emptying, boo-boo kissing, argument breaking up, dinner making, needing a nap feeling, losing our cool frustration, singing kid songs serenading, baby rocking, husband loving, God worshipping, cracker crumb vacuuming, dog feeding, homework helping life. and that truly is much much more than just ... normal.

thanks jody.
for keeping it real. :)

Okay,
I just loved this video! I especially loved Wyndham signing! It's so funny because our Genna learned see you later alligator and she still loves to sign at least, "See you alligator!" Too cute! You are a great mom...I know because there are many days I leave dishes on the table and toys everywhere and feel I've accomplished nothing. To your kids, you've meant the world because your focus was on them.
Keep up the good work and keep blogging. I get so excited when I see a new update...like Christmas morning!

Hey Jody,
Just loved seeing you and your beautiful kids. I so enjoy keeping up with you on Nitty Gritty as I am not on facebook. Tell Brock to keep going with the gitar. Sounds really good! And Jody, where do you get your energy???

How fun. Your voice is not like I expected. Deeper I think. Way to go Wyndham on those awesome signs, Brock is a music man. He is so confident. Love it. Ava is just a bundle of energy and I can tell that Bella has an amazing sense of humour! Thanks for this glimpse into your world- LIVE!!!

Why must they always jump???? Hilarious and VERY realistic. What else would we expect from the Ferlaaks?

What a beautiful family you have! I enjoy your blog and seeing you all made my day. My three girls are 14, 18 and 21, so the days of babies is long past. It was nice to see your little ones. Enjoy these years, they are gone much to fast.

Why I was imagining you with a southern accent, I don't know! (You live in Michigan, correct?) lol Anyway, it was so nice "meeting" all of you! Wyndhym signing, Ava bouncing around, Bella saying "pizza" over and over, Brock playing awesome guitar, and Crew moving his legs seemingly hoping that he could move around to get more into all the action! FUN video Jody, thanks for sharing it and for introducing your beautiful children to all of your Nitty Gritty fans.

Keep up the good work Brock, my daughter is learning to play the guitar too! You are doing great!

The girls look beautiful and remind my of my own daughters!

And baby Crew is just so cute I could eat him up!

Brock!

You are really turning into quite the skilled musician these days.

I can't wait to hear more. It seems that every time I see you, you've learned a new song or even a new instrument!!
