Future American Idol

The kids were dancing and singing to cd's with microphones the other morning. They love the music loud and Crew was loving every minute of it- much to my surprise. When they finished their playtime, I handed Crew a mic and grabbed my camera. As you can see, I overdo it with my picture-taking. It's something I'm not shy to admit. This time, though, I can honestly say I couldn't help myself.
He was just so cute and happy with that mic in his hands.
Tonight I'll be watching American Idol. Again.
I rarely watch tv. I am serious about that statement. I mean, besides Spongebob or other shows that my kids watch. But I am actually enjoying AI this season. I think it's the best one yet. What about you? Do you watch American Idol or take too many pictures too? I have a feeling I'm not alone. =)

Hi, Jody:

There is no such thing as too many pictures... especially with a baby with a mic. I've lived with a camera hanging around my neck for over 20 years. And as the kids get older, I'm glad I have spent that time wisely... taking "too many pictures."

I LOVE photo shoots like that! I do them quite often with my 2 boys--ages 3.5 and just turned 1! They grow TOO fast and this is my little way to freeze time! I am so inspired by you, not just your craftiness, but your mothering as well. Whenever I reaad your blog I am reminded that God is good. I can across a quote you might like.."Be kinder than necessary for everyone is fighting some kind of battle." So true! If I lived closer we could be Stuck at home moms together. You seem like just the type of person I would love to be around--if your ever in MO look me up!! And that K&C box! What a great surprise! I am most intrigued by the frog packaging and is that an intire set of alpha image cards?? Would make a great mini!! Have a great day and thanks for your spirit-lead outlook on life!!

No such thing as too many pictures. I came across some old vcr tapes yesterday of my 14yr old when she was taking her first steps. At the time I was home schooling my then 10 and 8yr olds while I was working 2 12 hr night shifts a week as a Nurse. Your post reminded my of the fun we had turning the music up loud and dancing. The kids would stand on the kitchen counters and I would catch them as they jumped into my arms to the song "Im divin in Im going deep." Ok now I made myself cry because the then 8yr old now is married and living far away from me with her Army husband. All that said have fun while their still in your kitchen under foot. Im glad to see you are......

I now have a 23 year old that my Mom thought would be blind from all the picture taking. But now, We all treasure those pictures and so from an older Mom who thinks you ought to be SuperMom, I applaud you taking time to sing and dance and love your children. You know as well as so many of us how fast life flies and how short the time with our little ones go. I pray for you all the time and am glad to see God is granting you peace and love to go all day.

Little Crew is adorable..how can you help but take so many pictures! :)
I LOVE pictures, but am horrible at taking them. My daughter is our picture person...she's awesome.

I too am an American Idol fan. Every year I think I'm just not going to watch it, but I do and yes, this is a good year so far. Did you know that Jason Castro is coming out with some new music? It's really good too! Love him. :) I think he might be singing on AI this week...not totally sure though.

I'm in the process of moving into my first apartment, so I'm going through all the things in my room I've lived in since I was 13. I literally have almost an entire chest of drawers full of photos. It's crazy! But I don't regret a single one of them. Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Jody, is that a bedspread or comforter behind Crew with the guitars on it?? Whatever it is I love it, where did you get it? My boys room is done in guitars! By the way Crew is just adorable! I have a baby almost the exact same age as your Crew! My baby, Jameson was born September 29th, 2008. I have two older boys too, Jackson that is 6 and Jacob that is 4. Your family and kids are adorable and I couldnt imagine living your life with losing Teagan and all. I hate that you lost her and the way you lost her but really that you just lost her, I couldnt imagine and this is one of my greatest fears, losing a child! You and your family are an inspiration to many, including me! You can email me if you have time to let me know what that is with the guitars all over it that crew is sitting in front of in the pics and where you got it. joshandshelly4@verizon.com

THANKS!

I have been disappointed with the group of singers this season on Idol. I'd rather vote for Crew! He is a cutie!

I do BOTH, watch AI and take too many pictures! But that is the beauty of digital photography, right? :)

I just love your blog. I need to spice mine up a bit, that is for sure.

It has been fun watching Crew grow up. I have a little one myself, 6 months old and they aren't too far in age. Fun fun!

We don't watch Idol.. mainly because I am at Bible study... my reality tv addiction is produced by the same folks though.. so you think you can dance... i puffy heart that show. Big time.

As for the picture taking? Lady, your life, your kids and your Godly message is way to beautiful to not document every second. Thank you for uplifting my day. (and for keeping all the snow one state north :) )

Blessings,
CeCe
