The first week of summer...

and I've taken zero pictures thus far.
I've had kids up before 7 am a few times, no fast food {yet} =), one bee sting, a couple of big thunderstorms, one daughter creating a 'library' in her room, one to therapy a few times as well as a routine doctor appointment, hubby working long hours, and an air conditioner not quite working like it should.
Yep.
Summer is in full swing. I have a feeling it will be the first day of school way too soon.
And because I'm just feeling lazy this week...
Happy Birthday to my sister, Stephanie (June 4th). Happy Birthday to Auntie Kim (today) and Happy {early...June 8th} Birthday to Grandpa John! Love from all of us here to each of you!
And just as a warning to all my readers who aren't family, you may be in for 3 months of long breaks, boring posts and random thoughts from me here at Nitty.Gritty. I'm 24 weeks into my pregnancy and finding that putting my feet up and just 'watching life happen' feels pretty good most days. Even when the air is hot and humid. Wish me a little luck and a lot of patience getting through the next few months. Hopefully I'll find a way to take a few pictures, and I hope we have a little bit of fun along the way too!

I agree, sit back and have a break ~ time will fly past so quickly and then it will be school again.
My children don't break up for the summer until the end of july and the start back in September (they have 6 weeks off in the summer here in England and it flies by!!).
Take care, love and hugs ~ Tabitha XX

Maybe you have too, but I've experienced the last few months of a pregnancy during the hot summer months (as you will be doing) and also had two that ended in January. You can probably guess which season I prefer for that task! Here's to you keeping cool this summer!

Hi Jody,

I have been following your blog for a couple of weeks now (I came across it through Angie Smith's blog). You and your beautiful family have been in my prayers since then.

Your story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. You are an inspiration!

My friend is currently going through something similar as your family did. Her 6 year old son, Nic, was hit by a drunk driver about a week ago and the Dr's have told their family that, in addition to life-threatening internal injuries, there is no chance he will ever wake up again. Although I am not yet a mother, I can't even begin to imagine what she (and you) must be and must have gone through. I just wish I knew what to say to her or how I could help her get through this. Its harder still since she is in another state. Any suggestions?

Much Love,
Cindy
