One of those days.

That's what today is for me...been feeling a little bit achy and tired and worn out all day long. It's cold (high is 48 degrees here), wet and just doesn't feel much like spring. Fortunately, although we had to be up early around here for Brock to get to school and Wyndham to make it to a doctor appointment, I was able to pull the covers back up while Bella climbed into the bed next to me and watched Noggin. I dozed a bit...and then hit the Extra Strength Tylenol. I don't do that often, which is a good thing.
It's just one of those days, where I'm happy to pull out the paints and watch the girls do art, throw in and wash only two loads of laundry, play around with some of my scrap goodies, and read 'Treasury of Curious George' while the spaghetti pie bakes up for dinner.
That's what's happening in my neck of the woods. Feel free to tell me what's happening in yours. When I'm feeling better, I just might randomly draw a 'comment' and send you a "I'm feeling better card." =)
Here's to sunshine and energy levels...which really, can't be all that far away!
Edited:
Here is the link to my recipe for Spaghetti Pie. Enjoy! I actually perked up for a few minutes at dinner...and made Mint Meltaway hand-mixed shakes with a squirt of whipped cream on top. I know the weight-loss people and psychology experts would scorn me for using 'food' to feel better. But I'd argue, "it works!". =) Whipped cream makes almost any situation better. {wink}

Jody, Hope you feel better soon. I had one of those mornings...tried to get up early to do some running...(training for a marathon right now, with newly found aches and pains) my girfriend called to wake me up at 5:30, I just rolled over and woke up an hour later. Sometimes my bed is the best place of all! Especially with a little one tucked in close to you...(mine is 6 months) I had to get up eventually to get on with the day and 3 kids...

Jody,

Thought it might help your day to know I "talked" about you in an email today -- and of course I have never met you. I stumbled on your blog from another site. I have tried to read as much of your story as I can (and over the last couple of weeks I have read quite a bit!). You are amazingly inspiring to me.

I am having the most silly drama with my 11-year-old son's basketball coach. This morning, before the drama began again, I had read your blog. I mentioned in my "rant" to my son's coach that I have been reading about a woman who is living with the fact that she had lost her four-year-old daughter in a horrible accident.

I explained that life is just too short to have an unhappy son if there was something I could do about it -- and because I had been inspired so much by your wisdom -- I chose to pull him from the team -- for his own good.

You are amazing and I hope knowing how you inspire and impact people makes your day a bit better!

Hiya Jody~
I hope that you are feeling better. Yeah this is some weather we are having isn't it? *sigh* My son {who's on the baseball team at school} has yet to be able to play a game because of snow and now rain today! Poor kids have been practicing for over a month and can't even play. Gotta love Michigan weather huh!? Oh well, baseball games aren't much fun when you are wet and cold anyways! I would much rather be sitting at home baking, scrapping or browsing blogs!! =)
God bless~

i just had a day quite opposite of yours.
after a year of slowing down and being still . . . life is picking up the pace.
today i worked all day. i saw three clients and worked hard during each session.
i also worked on building up the curiculum for my internship program. i really want to do this well.

i had noodles and company's pesto cavatappi for lunch! :)

hope you feel better soon!

Is this the same spaghetti pie that I enjoyed while Bella entertained Maya with with her delightfully incessant chatter and promises of Curious George stories?

if so, it was delicious.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Maybe the sun will come out and warm things up here.

Life is short, woman - say your prayers, extend a smile to a perfect stranger and eat dessert with whipped cream...first. I'm glad you're feeling better.

Jody -

Glad you are feeling a little bit better!

I already copied your Spaghetti Pie recipe (I haven't tried it but it sure sounds good!), but I'm much more interested in your Mint Meltaway Shake recipe. I love mint and I love ice cream - so that sounds WONDERFUL!!

I am having one of those days today, up early to go to my daugthers godmother for a fitting for her first communion headpiece, then to my mother's house which is an hour away from us, then back home for baseball practice and I am hopeful that I just might have a few minutes to put a bag together to go to my girlfriends house tonight to scrap.

Jodi,

I hope you are feeling better soon! We too have the cold weather, but also the grumpies and fevers/colds. I think it's time for some warm weather! Hope you back to yourself real soon!

Thanks for always inspiring us!

I use that same spaghetti pie recipe...I have no idea where I originally came across it. I put it in two glass pie plates and freeze one - it freezes really well!

WE had a Blah day too yesterday. My youngest (age 7) had fever all day and this morning was 103.2 AND I found a teeny tiny tick on her...so...we are making a trip to the Dr. this morning. She slept 2 1/2 hrs yesterday and she just DOESN'T do that...of course being the good mommy that I am, I slept 2 of those hours with her :). Anyway...hope you are feeling better soon!!! Love from Kentucky!!!

jody,
yesterday was definitely a stay in bed day here in ohio. fortunately for me I had nothing to do until the afternoon. that allowed my 2 little girls (4 and 18 months) to have a "lazy day". for us a "lazy day" is where we lay on the couch and cuddle in blankets while we watch cartoons all morning. my husband was nice enough to bring us burger king on his lunch break so i didn't even need to make lunch!
today we are back in the routine and even though the cartoons are on, the washer, dryer, and dishwasher are all running and we are all dressed before noon!

Too funny, I was reading your post and thinking, "Mmmm, spaghetti pie!! I should ask her for the recipe" and then saw your edit. Thanks for including it! Hope you're feeling better soon!
