Pop Tarts and World Peace

So, I dragged myself to the grocery store a couple of nights ago {and yes, I "rode the cart" from my vehicle to the cart corrale area in the snow at almost 10 pm. I'm sure that the Meijier security camera people will love seeing that footage should they ever have to review it for any reason =)}, and much to my surprise, Kellogg's has come out with new Pop Tart flavors once again.
I stepped back from the selection and counted roughly 32 different varieties of flavors- it's mind boggling! How do they keep doing this? In case you're wondering the new flavors are 'Hot Chocolate' and 'Strawberry Danish'. I'm still waiting for Starbuck's Latte or Smurf Berry Blue...not exactly sure what they would use for the filling in that one.
Anyway, as I stood there making the decision of what kind of Pop Tarts to buy, I started thinking that maybe they could put the "product idea people" on some sort of committee to explore ways to develop world peace. I mean think about it. These people must have some really terrific and funky discussions around their conference room table. If they could just spin their ideas from Pop-Tarts to politics, we might have something that the whole world could benefit from, wouldn't you agree?
Okay. Maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but still. Thirty-some flavors of Pop Tarts must mean there is a lot of brainstorming and creative idea powering the minds and drive behind Kellogg's product research.
For my own little fun and kicks, tell me what your favorite flavor of Pop Tart is...and if you really have your thinking cap on, what would you choose as the next flavor to hit the shelves? This could be fun...and who knows, maybe it could bring us one step closer to world peace. =)

NOT to make you feel bad AT ALL (I read your post a few months ago about that), but my mom rarely let us eat sugary breakfast treats.
SO no PT's for this girl . . . I don't think I had one until I was an adult. BUT when we went to my grannie's house, I always LOVE LOVE LOVED eating Cookie Crisp Cereal . . . close enough???

And for my World Peace endeavors . . .
"Take Out Our Your Neighbor's Trash For No Reason At All Tangerine"
"Look Up from the Floor and Smile at the Stranger Next to You Strawberry"
"Teach Your Kids About Love Lime"

Cara came up with World Peace Pop Tarts, I don't think I can beat those, very clever, but I do love me some Smores Pop Tarts!

Just give me plain ol' Frosted Raspberry. :)

My all-time favorite is Strawberry w/ frosting, pretty classic.

My new flavor would be Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Poptart.
j/k

It would really be something like Sweet Potato Poptart. Totally serious - I love sweet taters.

LOVE poptarts...my 2 girls eat them just about every morning. My 9 year old sticks to chocolate and my 6 year old mixes it up from time to time. Her latest discovery was the apple strudel(sp??). It is mighty tasty!!! I like the frosted rasberry too but will usually eat whatever we have...straight out of the package. My girls like them heated in the microwave.

Let's see...a new poptart flavor...how about a fruit salad?? Maybe a strip of strawberry, apple, peach, cherry...who knows. As far as tying it into world peace...well, it takes all kinds of fruit to make a goot poptart just like it takes all kind of different people to make a good world. How's that?

I love the Brown Sugar ones - but if i could make a new flavor it would be Caramel Macchiatto (sp?) and it would be filled with goodness and topped with swirls of caramel --- YUM -- this is making me hungry

I think they are called cookies and cream, they have the chocolate crust with the white vanilla filling. yum. I could eat a whole box in one sitting.
Which is why I never buy them.

I like the smores ones! Also a good raspberry one too!

I think a Milky way one would be awesome!!

My favorite Pop-Tart is the Brown Sugar w/frosting of course. Yummo! My step-son loves the Wild Berry but I can't get myself to eat the bright blue frosting with purple zigzags.

I second the vote for a Caramel Macchiato Pop-Tart or maybe an Eggnog Pop-Tart?

i LOVE the chocolate fudge pop tarts.
not the s'mores. the chocolate fudge.
and how about creme brulee or key lime for my new flavors?

Count me in for another vote for frosted Brown Sugar! As for a new flavor, how about a PB&J pop tart....kind of strange that they haven't come up with that one yet. Or maybe something with chocolate and mint creme? I don't eat pop tarts much, but it's fun to think creatively!

Jody,

I think it is AWESOME that you let your kids eat poptarts!! My parents didn't let us - and then I went to college and ate about 4 at one sitting!!! So I think that's what happens when kids are "deprived" of these delicious treats!! My favorite back then was RASPBERRY - but I like cherry, and chocolate just as much!!! They have always been available to my kids, but they aren't real big on them.....?!! The chocolate and mint creme idea sounds good!!

i don't eat pop tarts.
the babies love the smores flavor, though.

i once knew a family who toasted the pop tarts, then proceed to BUTTER the side of the tart with no frosting on it.
OMgosh talk about adding a heart attack to a heart attack!!
lol

My favorite ones are those strawberry yougurt ones. They taste good right out of the package. But the fudge ones are good to hot out of the toaster with a tall glass of milk. Mmmmm.

I just tried a cherry hershey kiss. It tasted just like a chocolate covered cherry...I think that would be cool as a pop tart too. :P

Mmmm...pop-tarts. It was a sad day indeed when I arrived at the airport in Grand Rapids last spring, heading back to Romania, and discovered that my luggage was overweight. Either the chocolate chips or my Frosted Cherry pop-tarts had to go. Chocolate chips go a lot further in my world, so they were non-negotiable. Surrendering the pop-tarts to my sister was bad enough; to add insult to injury, she now tells me that she STILL has them, eight months later. ;-)

Oooo, I haven't seen the strawberry danish variety!! Right now my favorite is Hot Fudge Sundae!!!! (yummy!!!)

i'm diabetic...so no pop-tarts in my house...hey I maybe on to something...maybe they could market a sugar-free made with splenda poptart!
i am a mean mom...i don't buy them for the kids...i keep the temptation out of the house. only on very rare occasions do i buy them...like a couple times over the summer break...they ususally pick strawberry.

So jealous Australia has so few people that we have no chance of so many flavours - count your blessings. Haven't even seen one flavour of pop-tart here!
