Now it's fall...

I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season today...nonfat, no whip, of course. I know, that's taking all the fun out of it, but my hips thanked me when I tried on some pants at the Gap outlet today.
It's been unusually busy around my house this weekend. I baked a sausage/egg and cheese casserole for my kids for breakfast yesterday and told them to all come and eat, and that I had an announcement to make. When they all got to the table I said, "Today I officially declare it 'Fun Day' all day long!" Brock shouted, "Hooray" and was all smiles. Bella, however, was in one of her moods already and simply crossed her arms and said, "I don't want 'Fun Day'. So, we had to work on her for awhile before she came around and agreed to participate.
Fun day for me and them then, meant that I spent minimal time on my computer and we did truly 'fun' stuff instead.
I also pulled out some things and scrapped a page before my bedtime. Love that rainy, drizzly, cold days can have silver linings too. It's all how you look at things!

Rainy days are the BEST for scrapping....just make sure you have enough adhesive! LOL, learned that lesson the hard way!

I made two fresh homemade pumpkin pies the other day. Boy, was the one good! I live in FL, so it's hard to tell when "FALL" gets here. We just change our meals based on the seasons to make us feel more "seasonal".

LOL.

What us more "experienced" moms wished we'd done MORE of...."fun days!" Taking LIFE way too seriously makes for "up-tight" families! You keep going girl!!

Hey Jody.
Just want to say Hi ! I was gone for several days & had withdrawal from your blog. I was in Frankenmuth, MI & then on to Clarkston to a concert (from Wed. to Sun.).
I just wanted to say I had missed my daily updates from your site & knowing what was going on w/ your family.
All of your entries and posts are adorable as ever.
I am not into scrapbooking, but still love to hear all about it.
You DO have a gift for writing and putting thoughts into words.
God Bless you & yours.

It's true that silver linings are easy to see when you are looking for them.

I find that my 2nd son resists changes...but is often the most enthusiastic participant once we're actually in the middle of something. It reminded me of your daughter not wanting to be part of "Fun Day!"

I completely agree. It's all about perspective. Glad to see you guys were able to turn that gloomy day around into a fun day. :)

Oooooh, Pumpkin Spice Latte(saying with a little drool running down my chin like Homer Simpson). That sounds so good. Aren't "Fun Days" the best for us all? My girls seem to think everyday is Fun Day, sometimes I just go with it.
