It's beginning to look alot like fall around here.

This is what the start of fall season looked like at my home the past couple of days. That peach Bella is holding is a locally grown Michigan peach. And you thought the best peaches all came from Georgia...look at the size of that fruit! Bella is signing peach in her one photo, and I asked Wyndham to sign 'dessert', but she kept rubbing her tummy as if to say, "yum!". I made my favorite Peachy Amaretto Crisp, and I'll be sure to post the recipe here soon. Nothing beats a warm peach crisp with (fat-free) half & half cream poured over the top.

I asked Brock to pose for a picture the morning of his first day of second grade. He pumped his arm in the air with excitement. I'm sure by 8th grade he'll be less than excited for school to begin. But for this moment in time, that was his feeling. It made me happy to know that he is still excited about learning and growing. It makes me want to go learn something new too. Just to bring back that 'school-kid' excitement.

Happy start of fall to everyone. Enjoy the produce of the season. Yum!

What a sweet smile Wyndham has :) I don't know if I was ever as excited as your son on the 1st day of school-hope he keeps that excitement. I just bought a box of Georgia peaches, so I'm looking forward to your peach crisp recipe. Meanwhile, my SIL gave me a recipe for Peach Cream Pie. I usually don't make pies, but this one sounded so good & easy to make.

I love today's post! Everyone seems so happy. We started school 2 weeks ago and my 2nd grader was just as excited as Brock looks in that picture. Today though, he's home sick with a fever. And also today, I dropped off my little one for his first day of preschool. A bittersweet moment for mom.

Have a GREAT day!

second grade is the BEST. that's what i taught, when i was teaching, and it is FABULOUS. the kids are young enough to still love school, draw pictures for their teacher and give hugs. . .but old enough to do very fun projects, and you can carry on a reasonable conversation withthem most of the time! SO FUN! hope second grade is a most excellent year for you all!! :)

I saw the peach and thought "YUMMY!" and then was wondering how you got Utah peaches? lol...I just ordered 38 lbs of (utah) peaches so do share the recipes! I guess Georgia is called the Peach State? Michigan is just lucky ;)

Everyone looks so happy! And you can definately see excitement in their eyes.

Oooh, I love Michian produce! And I love love LOVE autumn in Michigan--especially October! Hopefully I'll be able to get moved to Grand Rapids in time for some of it.

Wyndham's smile lights up the room! What a beautiful girl! I miss Michigan so much!!! There is nothing like Michigan fruit, especially cherries. Washington thinks they are so great with the Rainier cherries, but I just smile and nod while in my head dreams of Traverse City & The Cherry Festival dance....
