Miscellaneous thoughts...

I'm still here, in case you were wondering. Been busier around my house because my friend and nanny is in GA and so there is more for me to do around my house! It's not as fun here without Rachael- really- for me or the kids. Golf season is in full swing, which means Daddy is gone longer hours at the course and we miss him too.
Some days I imagine the future in which I won't have any sippy cups lying around the house or diapers to change. Which, by the way, don't you ever wonder why God didn't do that whole thing alittle differently? I mean, really. It would have been just as easy to make diapers smell good (I'm thinking like cinnamon or vanilla or even orange zest-scented) as it was to make them smell horrible. Did he think we moms would just let our kids run around in dirty diapers just because they smell so good? I'm not sure what the real reason, but I plan on asking Him about that when I get to Heaven someday.
Also, been thinking more and more about making scrapbook pages. Some of the stuff I saw and heard at my scrap event is kind of sinking in a little bit- besides I've got some awesome products to use, so if you don't hear from me for a few days it because I'm challneging myself. I think I may put my blogging on hold until I scrap at least 4 pages. I want to see if I can do the pages, but I also want to see if the pressure of not being able to blog gets me more motivated to do pages.
So, that's what I'll be up to for however long it takes. I've been a little down in the blog dumps too- wondering if it really matters in my life if I keep blogging or not. Maybe some of you have had the same thoughts. I do this for me, but I'm wondering if it's a good use of my time or not. If you have any inspiration or encouragment for me now would be the time to share. I promise I read all my comments and emails too. I feel like it's a big part of the deal. If I blog, I owe your thoughts my attention. So, if you want me to read your stuff or check out your site, drop me a note and/or link. Hope to see you around!

Jody,
I hope you continue to blog I have been reading since the beginning. I think we all have something to share and I think what you say encourages people and lets them know to not give up. I know for me blogging helps me verbalize me thinking and helps me think about ideas to use for my photography and scrapbooking.I liked your writing enough to mention it as something I am loving lately in my blog . Check it out.
I also see in your blog hope sometimes i get discouraged in my spirtual path and you make me want to keep plugging ahead. So please don't stop.
We also both like the colorful side of things.See Blog.

Of course I'd be sad to see your blog go, but I think ultimately you have to decide if it's good for you to keep going. I'm wondering if there's a reason you're questioning this now? I know you've had a positive impact on a lot of people (I know you know that too) but is writing having a positive impact on *you*? I hope so.

I journal for myself mostly, too, but it's always cool to get comments from friends. I also think it's a good way to chronicle the events of my sons' childhoods. It's a release for me.

You need to do what's best for you - if you're not having fun, it's not worth it!
But as a fellow blogger, I hope you continue. Your posts are fresh and real and full of hope. You truly "get" what we are on this planet for and know that our real reward comes in heaven.
Blessings to you!

Jody,
If you need to know that you are giving to others as much or more than you are getting, the answer is yes, if you need to know that you are inspiring and uplifting, the answer is yes, if you need time to do other things, we'll understand, but we'd miss your blog terribly. You have a gift and it would be a shame not to share it. I could go on and on, but I'm not good at writing my thoughts, if I was I'd have a blog, too. Just keep sharing your wisdom, humor, insights and your faith with us, when you can. Its like an injection of all things good in this world, and we need it.

PLEASE DON'T GO -- I NEED YOU -- (just in case you can't tell - I am screaming this at the top of my lungs - hence the ALL CAPS)

I think that you should keep blogging, but don't forget about all the other things that you love too. I found that I go through sperts of blogging a ton, than hardly at all. The reason is that I feel that I need to place my attention elsewhere for a while. I love your blog, and I love to read your thoughts. Keep it up!

Jody--

Like others have said, you need to do what's good for you! I will tell you that you will be missed if you stop blogging. I, too, check your blog frequently during the day for an uplifting moment, a little laugh, a rememberance of those we've loved and lost (in this life), a reminder that Heaven awaits us with those loved ones, a reminder that it's okay to grieve (sometimes for a long time), a reminder to be thankful and grateful for what we do HAVE (and not what we don't have)... the list goes on and on!

You are an absolute inspiration to a number of people. I don't leave many comments, but I had to this time.

If you're not blessing us with your wisdom, always bless your children with it! You are amazing and I love your Nitty.Gritty.!!!

Thanks Jody for sharing YOU with all of us.

{Oh, and there's a good chance I'd be with Christineai's mob hunting you down!}

Selfishly, I do hope you keep blogging because I have been inspired and motivated reading your words. This has been a life changing 4 months for me in my religious life.

But your message brings reminds me of the story "A Reason, Season, Lifetime" People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

Jodu- thought of you today and I'd so miss your blogging, (you challenge and inspire me so often)-- so don't quit. I think that scrapping 4 pages to blog is a fun challenge, though.

So, yeah, I'm in Bible study this morning and we're in our large group setting and the leader says something about the nitty gritty and I'm totally cracking upside b/c YOU came to mind.

fun stuff. I need to go back and re-read what the context was for her using nitty gritty.

okay, happy scrapping.

Hey there Jody,
Please keep blogging. You are often the voice of God for me. How is that for a bit of pressure? My brother is having a hard time forgiving my dad for some family stuff. I sent him a link to one of your posts about forgiveness. I hope he got something out of it. Take a break or write only a few times a week, but please keep writing. You have no idea who you will reach.

i will surely miss checking in on your blog if you decide to let it go - but i understand how easy it is to get obsessive about it, and wonder what's best. BUT if you start some fabulous scrapbooking projects, you could POST them on your blog and we would LOVE to see them!!!!! happy scrapping!
