It's official.

We're now taking baby boy name suggestions. Because of course, I had my girl name all figured out. =) This little one likes to move- a lot! He was sucking his thumb for the camera during part of the ultrasound too. If he keeps that up after his birth he will be our first thumb sucker. So, although he's baby #7 in the line-up, I think we're in for a few surprises anyway. That's part of what makes babies so special. They are all individuals and so unique!
We'll be anxious to meet him in person.
As soon as he puts on a bit more weight. =)

  1. Congratulations! I had a feeling it was a boy, but then again, I almost always guess boy when someone announces their pregnancy and lately I'm always wrong. :-P Good to hear he's so active and doing so well!

I've wanted a son named Aaron since I was twelve (who knows why I decided then that it was the perfect name, but it sure did stick). Alas, God blessed me with three girls (and I wouldn't change it for the world!). I know you seem to prefer less traditional names, but just thought I'd throw it out there! I'm sure whatever name you choose will be perfect for your little thumb-sucker!

  3. My daughter was going to name her baby Elias if it was a boy. I love that name. I think I told you in a previous comment they are going with Nora Rose for their little girl.

You come up with beautiful unusual names. I can't wait to hear what you pick.

  4. Congratulations Ferlaak's, on another sweet boy! How exciting!!! Let's see...as far as names go, I am more the old fashioned, strong masculine boy name kind of person -- my sons are Joseph, Gregory and Thomas :) so I think those are nice names ;) I wish you all the best.

  5. I am 31 weeks pregnant. We were going to use the name Maddox for a boy. We found out several weeks ago that the baby is a girl. So I will have 2 little girls.

  6. Congrats on another little boy! I'd suggest Landon. It's not traditional but a nice strong name. Or there is Aiden, but that's become more popular recently. And I'm also partial to Evan because that's my little boy's name. :)

Lucky little Crew gets a brother so close in age... that is awesome. Congratulations again on the newest little one!!

  12. We have 2 girls (Madi and Ella) and one son named Leo. We liked it because it was a family name, simple and can't be shortened. I think you must like similar with Brock and Crew! If I had another boy I would use the names Jack, Charlie or Oscar.

  13. Congrats on another little boy! Working in an inner city hospital, I have lots of baby names, but probably none that I would print! I do like the names "Riley" and "Ingram". Whatever you choose, he will be a blessed little boy!

  34. First time commenter... long time follower here:) I just prefer to lurk!

We chose Finley for our second son and later found out that it means "fair-haired soldier". It has proven to be a strong and appropriate name for him. Have you ever met a Finn you didn't like???

  36. My sons are exactly 2 years apart to the day. We chose John Christian (nicknamed Jace), and Jackson Creed. As a name, Creed means "believer", which I loved. Congrats on the boy! They're wild and ornery, but I love mine to pieces! :)

  38. Long time lurker here, but I just had to put in a word for my favorite boy name: JACK!

It means: God is gracious. My son is Jack Cooper (8), he goes by Cooper but I like to call him Jacky Jack or Jacky J or Jax. Jack is after my Grandfather. It is very traditional, but I love that name!

Then there's Luke, Blake and Will.

Congratulations, I know you will pick the perfect name for him...can't wait to meet him in photos!

  42. My favorite boy name is Hosea. I guess that is because that is my son's name :) Naming babies is so much fun, but also so much responsibility!

  43. If I could make a suggestion, it would be Jace Gabriel. I think it is strong but soft at the same time. I love all of your children's names. They are unique but not unusual. Very fitting from what I read about them and see in your blog.
Congratulations on another baby boy!! I have one girl and one boy, and I love both of them with all my heart. They are VERY different (as I know you already know) but I love so many different things about each one.
Congrats again! Can't wait to hear your decision!

  47. Congratulations! I will chime in as a long-time lurker, first time poster. . . you have so many great names already suggested! Our family names all start with A, meaning I like patterns, so I suggest a name that begins with a D since you already have Brock and Crew. . .Dean, Dane, Drew(ooh, it rhymes!)or Dax. Glad all is well!
